The EcoFlow Solar Power Stations

EcoFlow offers a wide range of solar power stations in two lineups: the Delta and the River.

The Delta is a line-up of mid-size and large machines, with the Delta Pro being one of the market’s largest solar power stations with seamless scalability, and it has been upgraded with a more powerful model called the Delta Pro Ultra in the fall of 2023.

The Delta Pro is a 3.6-kWh device that you can expand up to a huge 25-kWh using the brand’s extra modules. It features a 3600-watt inverter that can be converted into a 7200-watt 240-volt system by pairing two units together.

It has a light variant called Delta Max with a 3400W inverter. The 2 kWh device is also an expandable one that you can scale up to 6 kWh with additional battery modules. The Delta Mini and the original Delta are other variants of the Delta series. They are some of the more popular mid-range power stations on the market.

Meanwhile, the River is the brand’s line of compact solar power stations. It is available in multiple models based on different power and storage capacities. They are all, of course, handy and compact power stations that are fine for outdoor and camping applications.

The base model is the 210 Wh River Mini, which has a 300-watt inverter. Other models, like the River, River Max, and River Pro, are shown to meet the needs of customers with different budgets and power needs. River Max and Pro are expandable devices, as the latter was originally a 720Wh power station with a 600W inverter.

EcoFlow Delta Power Station

EcoFlow Delta is a powerful and safe portable backup system for emergency power. When you set out for a recreational outing or an adventure trip, you can keep a fully charged Delta in your RV, boat, or van for a lot of emergency power.

It will give you a head start on your adventures, and once the Delta starts to run out, you can top it up with a solar array. Thanks to its 400-watt solar input, it can be fully charged in four to five hours under a bright sun.

It is one of the fastest-charging power stations on the market. An advanced MPPT controller is inside for fast solar charging.

Meanwhile, connected to a wall AC outlet, the EcoFlow Delta solar generator will take only two hours for a full recharge. The built-in X-Stream charging technology is what makes it possible.

The monstrous Delta power station integrates an 1800-watt pure sine wave inverter. That can surge up to 3300 watts to support most of your large and small appliances, like TVs, fridges, ovens, CPAPs, power tools, and more.

It shows off the fact that it has 13 different ways to charge, including up to six standard AC outlets.

They include two USB 12W outlets, two 28W fast-charging USB outlets, and two 60W USB-C Power Delivery ports. A 12V DC carport is also there to bring the total to 13 charging points. Well, you can use all the outlets simultaneously to power up or charge a variety of your electrical devices off the grid.

Compatible Solar Charger

The maximum solar input the Delta solar generator supports is up to 400 watts. EcoFlow features solar chargers for its power stations. Its 110-watt folding solar charger is what the brand recommends for Delta. It is a four-fold, highly efficient monocharger with an output of 110 watts.

With suitable connectors, the EcoFlow solar panel is compatible with other third-party solar power stations, too. For better portability, the EcoFlow solar charger comes with a durable carrying pouch. So, you can fold it down into a small unit after use and fit it in the pouch for easy transportation on your trips.

The solar charger features a rubber carrying handle and a flexible kickstand. The kickstand makes it easy for you to place the solar charger anywhere at an angle from 0 to 180 degrees.

The result is that you can utilize most of a day’s sunlight to juice up your power station or other devices.

The charger is designed to be used outside and in emergencies, so it is waterproof and dust-proof. So, you can take it in all rough outdoor conditions with no worry. It has an amazingly lightweight profile at 8.8 lbs. and a folded size of just 23.2 x 20.2 x 0.8 inches.

Why Should You Buy

1. More Power Without Gasoline

As a pretty powerful battery power generator, Delta is even able to replace a gasoline power generator. Gas generators are expensive, loud, and smokey, so it makes sense that they are very bad for the environment. It is when you get a very lightweight, compact, and eco-friendly power station from Delta.

2. X-Stream Fast Charging Technology

Both a wall outlet and a solar panel can be used to quickly charge the EcoFlow Delta solar generator. The brand’s patented X-Stream charging technology helps recharge it from 0% to 80% from a wall outlet in just an hour. Meanwhile, with a solar panel, you can recharge it in around four hours under the sun.

3. Safe for Indoor Applications

Of course, being a battery-powered generator, the Delta works safely indoors. A gas generator emits fatal carbon monoxide, making it unsuitable for indoor use. Meanwhile, during a blackout or an emergency, you can safely use the EcoFlow Delta generator indoors and enjoy unlimited off-grid solar power.

4. Perfect for Outdoor Enthusiasts

Like all similar products, the EcoFlow Delta solar generator is going to be a great companion for outdoorsmen. You can take the lightweight power station anywhere. And use it to power up your electronics off-grid with no limit if you have it connected to a solar charger.

5. Large and Informative Display

Above all, EcoFlow Delta sports a pretty large and informative display. It can clearly show all information regarding its operation. For example, when getting charged, it can show the status and time for a full charge quite clearly. At the same time, it shows the discharge rate as you consume power from it.

EcoFlow Delta Vs River Pro

As was said above, River Pro is the top-end variant of the EcoFlow River solar power stations.

EcoFlow launched the River power stations after the successful Kickstarter release of Delta. Here, I would like to have a small comparison of Delta against River Pro to help you find the best device for your requirements.

River Pro is a 720 Wh power station with a modular feature. So, in its basic form, River Pro has only half of Delta’s storage capacity. But using an extra battery, it can be expanded to 1440 Wh, which makes it more powerful than a Delta.

The River Pro has only a 600-watt inverter with a surge of 1200 watts and three AC sockets. However, thanks to its 1800W X-Boost mode, the River Pro can smoothly run bigger appliances, while the Delta is an 1800W device.

River Pro is a compact power station. It appears in a segment between the mid-range and compact power stations. Its main competitors in the segment look to be the Anker PowerHouse II 800 and the Bluetti EB70.

The Detailed Specifications

One of the key features of the River Pro is its fast charging from an AC socket. Thanks to the brand’s X-Stream charging technology, it will take only under two hours to charge from zero to 80% from a wall socket.

Solar charging is also faster with the device. It has a solar input voltage of 200 watts (10–25 VDC, 12 A), with which you can charge it in less than five hours with a pair of EcoFlwo 110W solar panels under optimal lighting conditions.

Some of the device’s charging outlets include two USB-A 2.4A ports, one USB-C 100W PD port, one USB-A 28W Fast-Charge port, and a 13.6V DC charger with 136W (maximum).

It weighs just 16.8 lbs. and is very compact, with a size of 11.4 x 7.1 x 9.3 in. So, you get an amazing alternative to Delta at a budget price. It carries a price that is half that of Delta’s.

Zendure SuperBase Solar Power Stations

The mid-range solar power station market is highly competitive. A lot of brands have recently come up with elegant and innovative models. Zendure SuperBase Pro is an ideal example. Zendure, as you may know, is a notable brand of mobile power solutions, power banks, and other charging technologies.

The Zendure SuperBase Pro appears in two variants with different battery capacities. The SuperBase Pro 2000 is a 2096 Wh power station with a Li-NMC battery, whereas its younger sibling, the SuperBase Pro 1500, is a 1456 Wh device with a LifePO4 battery.

Both variants highlight built-in 4G IoT connectivity as their unique selling point. So, it is easy to remotely access GPS, anti-theft, and other location-based services. Of course, this feature makes the Zendure power stations exceptional compared to their alternatives by other brands like Goal Zero, Bluetti, and Jackery.

Zendure SuperBase Pro 2000 and 1500

SuperBase Pro 2000 is a 2096Wh high-capacity power station. It is a real competitor to models like the Bluetti AC200P and Jackery Explorer 2000, with its bigger battery pack. Meanwhile, its 1456Wh entry-level variant is a competitor to the EcoFlow Delta and Explorer 1500.

You can use the heavy-duty machine to power up a variety of your devices off the grid and on the go. This can comfortably back up your laptops, drones, mini-fridges, ovens, power tools, and more for a pretty long period. Check out the product on the Zendure website.

Other than the battery pack, both the PowerBase variants share the same features. They have the same 2000-watt inverters with a surge of 4000 watts, and you can consume the AC power through six AC outlets.

Like all its earlier products, Zendure has launched it on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo with a flexible goal of 30K USD. It could collect 100% of the fund in a few minutes after the campaign’s launch. As of writing this, it has gathered nearly 165k USD from over 100 backers.

Charging Options

Faster charging from AC and solar sources is another attraction. With the GridFlow technology, you can charge the machines fully from a 100/120V AC socket in two hours at a maximum speed of 1800 watts. It will take only one hour to charge them up to 80%.

Meanwhile, the machines can handle a solar output of up to 1800 watts via AC input. Thanks to the PVMax and High Voltage Solar Technology (HVST) technologies, they can support a solar array of 60–160 volts.

By the way, they feature a solar DC input of up to 600 watts. That is, you can use a solar input of 12–60 volts and up to 600 watts to charge them with the brand’s portable solar charger via the XT60 port.

Zendure offers a 200W four-fold, high-efficiency mono solar charger. You can pair three of the units to achieve the charging speed of 600 watts that the Zendure machine requires.

The AC and solar DC options together can recharge the devices at a speed of 2400 watts. Thus, they can be charged fully in less than two hours. Also, you can charge them from a 120-watt carport or a gas generator.

Charging Outlets

The devices sport 14 various charging outlets. They include six AC sockets and multiple USB and DC ports.

More clearly, the Zendure devices come with six 100/120V, 2000W AC outlets, an auto output, four USB-C sockets with two 100W ports, and as many 20W units.

The carport included has a 13.6V/10A regulated 136W port, and there are also three 12V DC barrel ports.

Design and Size

The suitcase-style machine is built like a tank. The heavy machine is suitable for stacking up some boxes on top of it during your trips and van life.

It’s a great choice for portable users because it comes with rugged wheels and a strong handle that can be folded up. You can easily carry the toughly-built machine anywhere on your trips for adventures and explorations.

Above all, a 6.1-inch large display is another great thing. It can offer you real-time data on its performance, system information, battery status, and more.

With the included mobile app, you can also control the power station from far away.

Both the variants have the same size of 17.56 x 10.51 x 13.86 in, but the SuperBase 2000 and 1500 weigh 46.5 lbs and 48 lbs, respectively.

Why Should You Buy?

1. Dual Battery Variants

One of the most exciting things about the Zendure power station is that it comes in two battery variants.

As you see, the high-capacity variant features a Li-NMC battery pack, which is the same one we have in most of the popular electric vehicles on the market.

Meanwhile, the low-capacity one uses a common LifePO4 battery pack. As you know, the LiFePo4 cells enjoy longer lifespans, with the one in the Zendure lasting 6000 cycles to 60% capacity or 3000 cycles to 80% capacity.

It is when the Li-NMC cells only last 3000 cycles to 60% capacity or 1500 cycles to 80% capacity. Overall, we are lucky to have two battery variants at different prices, giving us a chance to pick the right one as per our needs and budget.

2. AmpUp Technology for Heavy Appliances

The 2000-watt Zendure power station highlights AmpUp technology that can boost its inverter power to 3000 watts. So, you can use the power station to comfortably run appliances above 2000 watts. The brand’s patented Dynamic Voltage Output is the technology behind AmpUp.

It works by lowering the output voltage and increasing the current flow. Hence, Zendure can smoothly run power-hungry appliances. As the inverter can maintain a pure sine wave output, there is nothing to worry about in terms of the safety of your appliances.

3. Household-Grade UPS

Zendure SuperBase Pro 2000 features home-grade UPS functionality.

It is a cool way to power up your home during blackouts. An unexpected power interruption will no longer affect your life as you have a SuperBase Pro connected to your home power outlet. It can instantly switch your home over to battery power and smoothly support appliances below 2000 watts.

4. Strongly Built to Roll

Of course, the Zendure power station has a strong build. Zendure has been long known for the durability of its power banks. This one is also not an exception. Made with quality materials, you get a tank-like power station for easy movement on any terrain out in the wild.

It features a strong telescoping aluminum handle, heavy-duty wheels, and an amazingly low center of gravity to make moving easier. You can roll it across any terrain and enjoy unlimited off-grid power right anywhere.

5. High-Efficiency 200W Solar Panel

As said above, Zendure offers an exclusive solar panel for the devices. That is a four-fold 200W highly efficient mono solar panel, which can convert up to 22.5%. It comes with adjustable kickstands, so you can position it anywhere easily for maximum results.

With an IP67 rating, you can certainly take the solar panel anywhere on your trips with no worry. To achieve the maximum solar input of the SuperBases, you will have to pair three units of them together.

Once in action, the solar panels will be able to charge your machines fully in a few hours under ideal conditions.

EcoFlow vs. Zendure: What to Buy?

I have taken a look at some of the best-selling models of the EcoFlow and Zendure solar power stations. When it comes to EcoFlow, you have a lot of models to choose from, whereas Zendure has only two models.

Both the Zendure SuperBase Pro 2000 and 1500 are, in fact, mid-range devices with storage capacities of 2096 Wh and 1456 Wh, respectively, and the same 2000-watt inverters. In the EcoFlow line-up, the original Delta and Delta Max are enough to take on the Zendure challenge.

Meanwhile, EcoFlow has a wide range of other models, as you know. Both Delta Pro and Max are expandable with additional battery packs, and they also tout high-power inverters under the hood.

At the same time, the EcoFlow River series opens up a great collection of compact power solar stations for you to choose from. With different power options and price ranges, you get multiple options to make your camping and outdoor life rather fun.

Why Choose EcoFlow

  • Leading Player in the Market for a Longer Time.
  • Multiple Choices in Compact, Mid-Range, and High-End Options.
